Today is Sexual Freedom Day in the United States with a full day of workshops, panels, discussion, celebration, and special guests sponsored by the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, a national organization working to affirm sexual freedom as a fundamental human right. The day includes a 3:00 pm press conference.
There will also be the release of the first annual State of Sexual Freedom in the U.S. 2010 Report. The report focuses on the transcendent truth that sexual rights are human rights. This new tool will help media, lawmakers, researchers, and advocacy organizations working toward equal rights and protections for all citizens regardless of sexual orientation, gender identification, or sexual practice.
In addition there will be a 2010 "Vicki" Sexual Freedom Awards. The day will include an awards luncheon to individual whose work and personal lives affirm everyone's fundamental human right to sexual freedom. Recipients of the "Vicki" may come from fields as varied as law, science, health, business, religion, politics, journalism, and activism.
