Costa Rica "Sexual Paradise"

Sex news around the world travels to Costa Rica where prostitution enjoys general acceptance there. It's estimated that between 15 and 25% of all visitors to Costa Rica go there for sexual activities.

For lots of people, Costa Rica is seen as a sexual paradise. The city of San Jose' has a wealth of bordellos, cabarets, escort services, massage parlors and bars. There is something for anyone looking for their particular sexual interest.

There's a joke about the number of whorehouses in San Jose'. The joke goes that in order to put a roof over all of the brothels, you would have to cover the whole city.

Costa Rica is known for its sex tourism trade and there are certain prominent hot spots for prostitution such as the Hotel & Casino Del Rey and Key Largo. Women from many countries come to Costa Rica to compete with the locals and ply their trade.

They affirm Costa Rica’s position as an international hub for prostitution which is legal and regulated by the government since 1894. Not all see it as a sexual paradise as the U.S.State Department has pointed out in its 2008 Human Rights Report that "... women and minors, were trafficked to, from, and within the country, most often for commercial sexual exploitation."

The hub for much of the prostitution in San Jose' is at the Blue Marlin Bar at the Hotel Del Rey which according to many is its sexual epicenter. Known as the Pink Palace because of its pink facade, at night this is the place to meet women. It is standing room only in the bar as a multitude of women ply their trade for the sex tourists.
